BIO: With two decades of private and public sector experience in public affairs, Kareem has fostered a unique understanding of Canada’s Chinese, South Asian and Indigenous communities while developing policy expertise in the energy, health and transportation sectors.
Kareem has successfully levered his knowledge of people, policy and place into successful political campaigns at the municipal, provincial and federal levels.
Recently, Kareem successfully managed the Kevin Falcon for BC Liberal Leader Campaign and the ABC Vancouver Municipal Campaign, electing 19 out of 19 candidates, including Mayor Ken Sim. In 2023 Kareem was named #9 to Vancouver Magazine's Power 50 list.
Prior to Fairview, Kareem served in senior Indigenous Relations roles with Britco, Civeo, Trans Canada Pipelines, and a national Public Relations firm. Prior to that, he was the Director of Public Policy at the Vancouver Board of Trade. Shortly after graduating from Simon Fraser University, Kareem had roles with Fortis BC and the Fraser Health Authority in Government Relations.
He is active in the community and has served as a member of the board of the Fraser Health Authority, the BC College of Massage Therapists, as a member of the Translink Screening Panel, the Canada Border Services Pacific Commercial Committee and the Metro Vancouver Integrated Utility Management Committee.
Kareem currently serves on the University of Victoria Gustavson School of Business's National Consortium for Indigenous Economic Development and Kwantlen University’s Melville School of Business Public Affairs Program Industry Advisory Committee.
